Santo Antão Cape Verde

Santo Antao, Cape Verde is the largest island archipelago of Cape Verde, you can only come by boat from the neighboring island of Sao Vicente. There are plans to build an international airport. Currently you are almost finished with the modernization of the port in Porto Nove.

  On the way to Paul, through this new road you'll pass a Ponta de Tumba lighthouse which was previously difficult reachable. Now you can walk to it.

The town of Paul, the hinterland is tropiche valley with banana trees, palms, dragon trees, sugar cane plantation etc.. very nice well worth it for a nice hike or a not entirely harmless jeep safari.

My quest for the dragon tree has finally pressing the material, it turns out this tree was closer than I thought. The dragon tree more than a thousand years old, and very large, they occur mainly on the Canary island of Tenerife.
